Bombay Hospital Voice and Swallowing Center has been organizing the Phonosurgery workshops since the past 16 years under the stewardship of Dr Nupur Nerurkar. This workshop is a landmark event in the laryngology calendar of our country and has always received enthusiastic response from delegates not just across India but abroad too. There are live surgeries demonstrated every year along with Keynote talks, invited talks and Panel discussions. The Annual Stroboscopy workshop is very popular as it is in an interactive format. This year we also had an Instructional Course in CO2 Laser use in Laryngology.

Year after year we have had the who’s who of Laryngology as our invited faculty speakers and this year was no exception. We had Dr Lucian Sulica from Weil Cornell medical college, New York present with us for the Keynote address, talks and panel discussion.

Dr. Seth Dailey from Wisconsin School of medicine delivered his keynote address in a virtual format. Other International faculties were Dr. Priya Krishna from Loma Linda California and Dr. Ahmed Elsobky from Egypt.

Every year we have the prestigious Dr. M V Kirtane poster award session and the posters were all posted online on the website www.phonosurgeryworkshops.com . This year the winners presented the top 3 posters during the conference.

The conference was well attended and received 4 points from the MMC.

Bombay Hospital is proud to have one of the few Voice and Swallowing Centers in our Country, which is equipped with state of the art stroboscopy, Narrow Band Imaging, Laryngeal EMG and where various office laryngeal procedures are performed under the guidance of Dr. Nupur Nerurkar along with a team of speech, swallowing and singing therapists.

The 17th Workshop on Phonosurgery will be in association with the 2nd Meeting of the International Association of Trans Voice Surgeons and is slated for 3,4,5 November 2023. This meeting shall be held at Bombay Hospital and currently has 10 confirmed International Faculty.
